Meaning in Life

Why are we here?

Have you ever wondered to yourself “What is the meaning of our life?” Why are we here? Most of us live our entire lives without ever knowing our purpose on earth. We are able to get everything our hearts desire, yet we never seem to be satisfied. Life is a valuable thing that we sometimes take for granted until it is gone. Have you ever honestly asked yourself, “Am I good person? Have I done what was right in my life?” The answers to these questions are easier to find than you may think.

Without Law

Mankind has achieved great success, from medical and scientific breakthroughs, industrial revolution and space exploration, far and above any other life form on earth. Yet we are capable of the most horrific acts of violence towards each other. Imagine if there were no longer any laws and no such thing as right or wrong. What would keep someone from murdering another to take their possessions, or from someone setting fire to an apartment building? Without the law, man would become a law unto themselves. Chaos.

Deeds in Life

Of course, not everyone would choose to do evil. So if there were no law, why would some choose to do good in this life? Because there is a Law that is higher than that of man’s and it is written on our heart by the One who created us: God. The reason we were created is to be united with God in a relationship with Him, but that relationship has been severed. God, who is our Father in heaven, is perfect and holy. We are not. By disobeying the Law of God, we commit sins against Him; sins such as lying, stealing, adultery and murder. There will be a Day when we will stand before Him and be judged according to our deeds in life. If we are worthy, our soul will spend eternity with God in heaven. If not, we will be thrown into the lake of fire, forever separated from God.

Sacrifice

Man has known about the Law of God since the beginning of  time, but no amount of good deeds could ever cover the multitude of sins we have committed. God, our Father, loves us with the greatest love possible. It is not his will that anyone should perish, but for all of us to have eternal life. How can we be certain we will be saved from destruction on that day? By believing in your heart and putting your faith in Jesus Christ, who was born 2000 years ago a man, but in reality, was God in human form. Jesus took all of mankind’s sin and bore it on himself. He was crucified on a cross and all of the punishment we deserved, he placed on Himself.

The Way

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. Many eyewitnesses recalled in the four Gospels of the Holy Bible, that for 40 days after his resurrection, He walked and taught among the people, and ascended to heaven. Because of His sacrifice, we are assured salvation and peace in the afterlife. But in order to be saved, we must believe and repent, or turn away from, our sins and be born again. Our sins lead us only to death, but faith in Jesus Christ will lead us to Life. To better understand your purpose in the cosmic theatre of life, you need to understand God’s will for you. The answers are waiting for you in the bible. All you need to do is ask Him. Pray to God and ask for his forgiven for all of your sins. Simply talk to God. He loves you.
